Deershed #6 On Sale Now!!!!

The Wedding Present announce special performance on new stage

FRIDAY 24th – SUNDAY 26th JULY 2015

As memories of Johnny Marr’s incredible performance on the main stage during Yorkshire’s hottest weekend of the summer begin to fade, the intrepid Deer Shed Festival organisers are cutting the ribbon on next year’s Deer Shed Festival 6 and opening the doors for business.

Tickets are now on sale for the festival, which will take place 24-26 July, 2015 in the beautiful Georgian grounds of Baldersby Park, near Thirsk, North Yorkshire. A limited number of adult tickets are at the knock down price of £99 (for those who know they’re onto a good thing) increasing to a very reasonable £109, once they’re gone.

If you thought a tent full of award winning family comedy, literary masterminds at your disposal, wall to wall kids creative workshops, the largest number of toilets per head for any festival, not to mention forty-six top quality musicians and bands, was impressive – then you need to hear what is out of the starting blocks for Deer Shed Festival 6.

Indie rock legends, The Wedding Present will be championing the new and improved In The Dock Stage with a special performance. Like the festival and the bands that have performed on it, this stage has grown up. Who better to mark its magnificent evolution than Deer Shed Festival 1 headliners, The Wedding Present. This amazing band took a punt on organisers, Kate Webster and Oliver Jones in their first year and that cracking start has fuelled the subsequent years, as Oliver explains…

“The Wedding Present were the first band that Deer Shed Festival ever booked at a time when we were just finding our feet. Five years on we are delighted to welcome them back. This performance will be a celebration of just how far we’ve come and a chance to offer them a bigger rider!”

Other news from the Deer Shed is that for the first time people will be able to extend their stay and camp on the Sunday evening. Music, entertainment, bars and food will continue until Monday morning. For more information on Deer Shed Festival 6 and to register for updates visit their site at the link below.

Our ethos

We are massive fans of music and the arts in general, and we all have kids. We have over the years got increasingly fed up with paying a small fortune to get our families into various festivals only to be disappointed in the music or in the entertainment, facilities and vibe for the sprogs. The Deer Shed Festival is our long considered response to this. Kids are not second class citizens at DSF.

However, we will not compromise on what’s on just because we are ‘family friendly’. If you don’t have children to bring along you will still find a lovely chilled atmosphere in which to enjoy a great weekend.

Our history

This is the sixth Deer Shed Festival. The team behind it have been in place from the start and families are at the heart of the preparations and the activities and services on site. In the last six years we have grown in attendance but we are aware that our audience doesn’t want us to grow too big. Those six years have seen a host of amazing bands play including Johnny Marr, Edwyn Collins, I Am Kloot, Saint Etienne, The Wedding Present, The House Of Love and Field Music.

What They Said About Deer Shed Festival:

“Because there’s something about the atmosphere, the site and the families, which remains unmatched anywhere in festivaldom. And I’m willing to wager that for 99% of the audience at Deer Shed, that’s what keeps them coming back year after year. Here’s to Deer Shed’s 6th birthday.” There Goes The Fear (from 2014)

“Deer Shed is jam packed with quality. The organisers have clearly given much thought to what all members of the family will want within a festival and have gone a considerable way to delivering that.” EFESTIVALS
